Methodology
- Site Visit:
- We interview key individuals to develop a complete understanding of the community, the organization, and the scope of the position. Information is sought regarding our clients’ mission and goals, structure, philosophy, and major operational issues. Position responsibilities, skill set, and experience requirements are explored.
- Position Specification:
- A detailed position specification describing the community, client organization, position and target candidate profile is prepared and submitted to the client for review.
- Search Strategy:
- A core project team, including a Principal Consultant, Project Manager, Researcher, and Administrative staff will participate in the development of the search plan. We prepare a projected time schedule specifying target dates for each major step throughout the search process.
- Identification and Recruitment of Candidates:
- Our candidate sourcing effort emphasizes fresh research and includes exploration and penetration of our extensive industry database, aggressive one-on-one networking, direct mail, and selective advertising.
- Candidate Interviews:
- Candidates most closely fitting the qualifications are selected for an in-depth personal interview, designed to develop an understanding of the candidate’s background, experience, accomplishments, and motivation. Management style and interpersonal skills are assessed and included in a detailed summary.
- Behavioral Style Assessment:
- We use the Personal Profile System™ to aid our clients in evaluating candidate style and potential fit within the organization (when appropriate).
- Presentation of Candidates:
- Candidates most closely fitting the client’s needs are presented for consideration.
- References:
- Reference checks on finalist candidates are conducted with superiors, peers, and staff in order to provide a three-dimensional perspective on past performances. Summaries of references discussions are provided to the client.
- Search Completion and Follow-up:
- Upon successful hiring, we continue to play an active role to ensure that a smooth transition occurs. We also provide timely feedback to candidates interviewed by the client, but not offered a position.
